Amanda Chiang, a trainee counsellor at A Kind Place (AKP).

Amanda Chiang is a trainee counsellor with over 17 years of experience in the special needs, and disability sector across educational and social service settings. She is dedicated to supporting neurodivergent individuals and their caregivers through a thoughtful, client-centred, and evidence-based approach.

Amanda places strong emphasis on creating a safe, warm, and non-judgemental space, where clients feel supported to explore their experiences, develop insight, and navigate emotional and life transitions at their own pace. Her growing interest in mental health within the neurodivergent community led her to pursue further professional training, enabling her to provide more holistic and psychologically informed care.

Guided by values of compassion, integrity, and service rooted in her Catholic faith, Amanda brings a calm and empathetic presence to her work. She is currently pursuing her Graduate Diploma in Counselling with the Executive Counselling Training Academy (ECTA), in partnership with Flinders University, and is completing her supervised practicum.
