Hi there, I am Kate, a speech and language therapist registered with the Allied Health Professions Council (AHPC).

I have been working as a speech and language therapist across various public and private settings for more than 20 years. Each work setting, ranging from the hospitals to the special education centres and homes of my clients, has provided me the opportunities to support, hear and learn from, people of various age groups.

My post-graduate training in counselling has also enabled me to adopt more person-centred and holistic approaches in working with my clients and supporting their parents / caregivers. To me, a client is beyond the presenting difficulty or condition. A session with a client is more than providing symptom relief. It can also become a safe space for each client to be affirmed of his or her unique strengths, and to co-create new possibilities out of their current experiences.

I embrace, and would like to continue advocating for, more child-safe, neurodiversity-sensitive, and strengths-based approaches in journeying alongside my clients.
